New Delhi, Jun 11 – Kangana Ranaut, noted Bollywood actor and BJP Member of Parliament, took to social media to emphasize the importance of “normalizing obsessive work culture” among Indians. Ranaut’s remarks came as she shared her views via an Instagram Story, where she posted a video clip of Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the staffers of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Monday, marking the beginning of his third term.
Modi had expressed his unwavering commitment to the nation, stating, “My every moment is for the country,” and pledging to work tirelessly towards India’s development, aiming for it to achieve developed nation status by 2047.
In her Instagram post, Ranaut criticized the concept of weekends as “western brainwashing,” urging for a shift in mindset. She advocated for embracing an obsessive work culture and discouraged the habit of waiting for weekends or complaining about Mondays through memes. According to her, such attitudes are remnants of western influence and do not align with India’s developmental goals.
Ranaut’s stance on work culture resonates with her reputation as a vocal supporter of Prime Minister Modi and his policies. Elected from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh during her first foray into politics, Ranaut defeated Vikramaditya Singh, son of six-time chief minister Virbhadra Singh, and state Congress chief Pratibha Singh. Her statement underscores the need for a collective shift in mindset towards productivity and dedication to national progress.
