District Chairman of District 307 Rita Sharma, inaugurated handwash station at govt.Higher Secondary School ZIB Barola, udhampur and distributed school shoes to needy children – Priti Khajuria

District Chairman of District 307 from Amritsar, Rita Sharma, during her official visit to Inner Wheel Club Udhampur celebrating its centenary, inaugurated the handwash station constructed at Government Higher Secondary School, Zib Barola and distributed school shoes to the needy children. District Secretary Priti Khajuria said that every year the elected District Chairman visits every club of the district with a new theme, in which she inspects the activities done by the club and gives information about how to carry out the social work in future. District Secretary Priti Khajuria told that every year 70 clubs of their district 307 do social work based on a new theme given by the Association President and District chairmanship and this year’s theme was “Shine a Light” on which we have to work smartly for a better future of the next generation, to brighten the life for the future generations which can be done in many ways under the different verticals like zest for zero waste, girl child Empowering a Prosperous Nation, Literacy Mission (IILM), Adopt and Build, Commitment to Senior Citizens and handicapped besides this providing help to flood relief areas of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, the district chairman told that their New Year starts from 1st July to 30th June in which work has to be done on a new theme given to all 29 districts of India. Every year new membership fees also have to be sent to International Inner Wheel otherwise the membership gets cancelled. 10 January is celebrated as World Inner Wheel Day by clubs around the world and this year from 7 to 10 May 2024, Inner Wheel members around the world will gather for the 19th International Inner wheel convention at Manchester to mark the 100th year of the formation of the Inner Wheel movement .On the occasion, Inner Wheel Club President Neelu Gandotra said that till now they have done many projects in which they have distributed sweaters, notebooks, sports materials, etc. and today a handwash station was built in Government Higher Secondary School, Badola, Jib so that the children Personal hygiene should be given more importance because cleanliness is health and school shoes also distributed among needy children. About 38 thousand rupees were spent in this project. The club President said that in future her club will also continue to fulfill its responsibilities towards the society and all the members will continue to contribute to support society
Club members Manju Baru, Mohini Baigra, Neelam Buchha, Anu Sanson, Harjeet Kaur, Tripta Sharma, Pratibha Gupta were present on the occasion.
