This will be the Japanese PM’s first meeting with Modi in his new role. He has met the Indian leader when he was Japan’s foreign minister.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Alumni Association organized a one-day seminar on,
“Current Skill Set Requirement: An Alumni Perspective”.The seminar was conceived for the
students of graduate and postgraduate level to give them a perspective on the tools and
skills required to enter the industry.In the inaugural address, Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr
Shardha Potukuchi, emphasized the adoption of skill-based education and highlighted the
various skillsets and opportunities that open various doors to the young graduates.Alumni
speaker, Mr Nilay Jaiswal, Marketing Manager @ 100ms & Co-Founder Zuv Foundation,
delved on the changes that the industry has witnessed over time and how gaining skillset
and in-depth knowledge will change the job landscape in near future.
Dr Sourabh, Faculty I/C Alumni Affairs SMVDU, highlighted the significance of skillset and
how one should use their capacities and capabilities to the fullest to achieve their significant
spot in the industry.Dr Sakshi Arora, President Alumni Association, encouraged the students
to focus on expanding their skills which can act as an asset to the increasing dependence of
manufacturing and other sectors on automation & digitalization processes.Dr Baijnath
Kaushik, Head, School of Computer Science and Engineering, also discussed the importance
of industry-related skillset and encouraged students to put more effort to be industry ready
in a smart way.Dr Mir Irfan Ul Haq (Secretary SMVDU Alumni Association) and other senior
faculty members Dr Ankush Raina, Dr Sonika Gupta, Dr Sunanda, Dr Sanjay Mohan were
also present. The faculty members lauded the efforts put in by the Alumni Association to
organize such events. The event was coordinated and smoothly run by the dedicated
volunteers, Tushar Taggar, Amit Sharma and Jasmine Raina. The proceedings were followed
by an interesting question & answer session after which, Jamine Raina, delivered a formal
vote of thanks.
