JAMMU: The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have arrested on Asif Farooq Wani, Patwari, Halqa Brein Nishat, Srinagar and Chowkidar, Nazir Ahmad Dar for demanding and accepting a bribe amount of Rs 10,000 from a complainant for issuance of Fardi Naqsha Intikhaab.
As per an official spokesperson, ACB received a written complaint wherein complainant alleged that one Asif Farooq Wani, Patwari, Halqa Brein Nishat, Srinagar and Chowkidar, Nazir Ahmad Dar are demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 for issuance of Fardi Naqsha Intikhaab of land from him. The official further said that on receipt of complaint, FIR No 08/2022 under section 7 of PC Act 1988 read with 120-B of IPC was registered at Police Station ACB Srinagar and investigation started, during which a trap team was constituted, which caught the accused officials red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount of Rs 10,000. “Both were arrested on the spot and taken into custody by ACB Team. The bribe money was also recovered from their possession in presence of independent witnesses. Immediately after trap, search was conducted at houses of accused,” said official, adding that further investigation is going on.
