School of Mechanical Engineering at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Uniersity is at forefront in
providing industrial exposure to students in latest technologies and promoting to work in
industry 4.0 and its associated technologies. For this visit, 03 students of B.Tech.
Mechanical Engineering, 5th semester, Mr. Ankit Kumar Pattanaik, Agam Balotra and
Harshit Kumar Rai under the supervision of Dr. Balbir Singh, senior faculty of the
mechanical school, visited Foundation for Smart Manufacturing (FSM) AIA-IIT, Delhi Centre,
and had an interaction with the Centre Director, Prof. Sunil Jha, and his team members to
get an exposure on latest technologies, such as Machine Digitalization, Digital Twins, 3D
printing, Augmented Reality, etc.
Further, students visited SMC Corporation (India) Pvt. Ltd. Noida for exposure in pneumatic
automation and Flexible Manufacturing Systems. Dr. Singh initiated drive for upgrading
students’ skills in the latest technologies and equipping them for future industries. Prof. M.
Eswaramurthy, Head, SoME, and Dean, Faculty of Engineering, has been encouraging
students to participate in technical and extra- curricular activities to grow professionally to
meet industry requirements.
