JAMMU, DEC 19: Nitish Mahajan, State Executive Member Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir called on the BJP Vice President and former minister Surjit Singh Slathia here today and discussed various party programmes in progress as well as those in the pipeline.
Parveen Kumar Rajan, Councilor Ward 10 Bari Brahmana also accompanied Nitish Mahajan during the meeting.
Nitish Mahajan while congratulating S.S. Slathia for holding a mammoth public rally at Thandi Khui in Samba district this week said that the rally is an eye opener for the opposition parties as it has proved the undaunted trust and faith of the people in the Bharatiya Janata Party and its leaders in Jammu and Kashmir especially Surjit Singh Slathia. Mahajan said that the BJP Govt led by the PM Narendra Modi has launched multiple schemes that are tailored to benefit people of cross section of the society with special focus on youth and women empowerment.
During the meeting, both the leaders held detailed discussion on the strategies to be adopted in ensuring that every individual right upto the grass roots level avails the benefit of the schemes launched by the Govt for the welfare of the people of this Union Territory. The strategy to be adopted for achieving the goal of 50+ seats in the J&K Assembly when elections for the same take place after delimitation of constituencies, also came up for deliberation during the meeting.
The BJP Vice President told Nitish Mahajan that though the party workers are working 24X7 to take the central sponsored schemes to the people at grass roots level, yet there is need to work with more dedication for the people especially the tail-enders by taking stock of their problems and getting these addressed at the earliest. He said that there is also a need to focus on strengthening the booths. He said that BJP’s report card itself reflects party’s performance and unlike resorting to criticism propaganda by the opposition parties, the party workers only need to make the people aware about the feats and achievements of the Union Govt and the party especially in J&K.
Nitish Mahajan assured S.S. Slathia of further accelerating the activities at the grass roots level by the party activists and volunteers who will leave no stone unturned in achieving the goal of 50 plus by the BJP in J&K Assembly and forming the Govt on its own.
