In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emerged as the uncontested choice for the position of Leader of Lok Sabha, Leader of the BJP, and Leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Parliamentary Party. This pivotal decision was reached during a gathering of the newly elected Members of Parliament from the coalition on Friday, paving the way for the alliance to assert its claim to form the government.
During the meeting, senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh proposed Modi’s name for the leadership positions in Lok Sabha, the BJP, and the NDA Parliamentary Party. This proposal was wholeheartedly seconded by BJP leaders Amit Shah and Nitin Gadkari.
Amit Shah, expressing his elation, congratulated everyone on their victory in the Lok Sabha Elections. He emphasized that the proposal to appoint Narendra Modi as the leader reflects not only the aspirations of those present but also resonates with the voices of the 1.4 billion people of India. Leaders of NDA constituents, including Nitish Kumar, N Chandrababu Naidu, HD Kumaraswamy, Pawan Kalyan, Ajit Pawar, and Chirag Paswan, expressed their unwavering support and commitment to work under Modi’s leadership.
The unanimous support from NDA partners for naming Narendra Modi as the leader of Lok Sabha, Leader of the BJP, and Leader of the NDA Parliamentary Party was a testament to their confidence in his leadership.
Naidu praised Modi, stating that he is the right leader for the current juncture and an invaluable asset to the nation. The atmosphere during the meeting was jubilant, with newly elected MPs, Chief Ministers, and other NDA leaders chanting ‘Modi-Modi’.
