Reasi, July 24 : Continuing drive against drug abuse in the holy town Katra, team of Police Station Katra were on checking/frisking duty at Nangal Road, Katra. During checking, one person who was coming on foot from Nangal side towards Katra town, upon seeing Police Party tries to fled away from the spot but was apprehended by Police Party. During checking, 300 grams of Ganja like substance was recovered from his possession who later disclosed his name as Gulzar Ahmed S/o Satar Mohd R/O Sudhmahadev, Chenani A/P Katra. Further investigation in the case is under process to unearth forward and backward linkage, to nab whole gang involved in this trade.
On this, Case FIR No 234/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Katra and investigation is going on.The whole operation is led by SHO P/S Katra Insp. Nishant Gupta under the supervision of SDPO Katra Sh. Surinder Singh-JKPS and overall supervision of SP Katra Vipin Chandran- JKPS.
SSP Reasi Sh Amit Gupta-JKPS further conveyed that Reasi police is committed to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and illicit liquor smuggling from the area and people from all sections of the society should come forward and join hands with Police to strengthen anti-drug drive of District Police Reasi and share any information regarding such illegal activities on district police anti drug helpline no. 9070907017 where identity of caller is kept secret.
