Department of Ayush Jammu and Kashmir organised Iconic Yoga Camp in which students of different Schools and Degree College of Sidhra, participated in Camp

Department of Ayush Jammu and Kashmir organised Iconic Yoga Camp in which students of different Schools and Degree College of Sidhra, participated in Camp at Ward No. 47, Bawe Wali Mata Mandir Park in Bahu Constituency.


Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria inaugurated the camp as the chief guest of the function while former MLA Dalip Parihar, Corporator Sharda Devi, SHO Bahufort Aarti Thakur were present as Guest of Honours. The event was organised by the Department of AYUSH to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga among students. The students participated in various traditional asanas and taught each other different methods of meditation.They were also given pamphlets to make them aware of the mindful and therapeutic aspects of yoga. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria expressed his views on the importance of Yoga and appreciated the efforts of the team members of Ayush Department for the successful event.

He stressed on the need of coordination between the educators and youth to make Yoga a part of their life. He also shared that the people have widely accepted the effectiveness of Yoga as a form of therapy. He further stressed on making physical activity and yoga part of day-to-day life.

The Deputy Mayor Jammu appreciated all the team members of the Department of Ayush for a successful organisation of the event. The Deputy Mayor also announced that special camps will be organised in all the wards of Jammu city to celebrate the International Yoga Day in future.
Dr Himani Butyal took a yoga session along with the yoga instructor as per yoga protocol. She expressed her gratitude to the Deputy Mayor of Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria, for gracing the event with his presence, and to all the guests for taking the time to be present.
Team Ayush includes Dr Sunil Koul, Dr Ranjana Bhau, Dr Chetan Singh, Dr Vikas Sharma (Medical officers), Vipan Khajuria (pharmacist), Jagan deep Singh, Jyoti Bali, Ishan Mansotra (Yoga instructors).
