NSS Unit of Government College of Education conducted a quiz and debate competition on the topic “Know your Rivers” on 16th of December 2021.
The program was organized in collaboration with Jammu Municipal Corporation. The major objective of the programme was to make the students aware of the importance of the rivers.
Chief Guest on the occasion ASO Hira Lal Khajuria, SI Vijay Sharma, and Project Head Rajat Gupta told the students about the rivers of Jammu and Kashmir and urged them to keep the water bodies clean.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kulvinder Kour, Principal of GCOE appreciated the efforts of NSS Volunteers and thanked all the dignitaries for their continuous support.Due homage was paid to the soldiers who attained martyrdom in the incident which took place 8 December,2021
Sparkle Club Members and Social Activist Mrs. Poonam Sethi, Mrs. Mini Bargotra, and Mrs. Rommi Verma gave their worthy presence.
The students enthusiastically participated and showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. The quiz was divided into various exciting rounds. All the students were at the edge of their sets to know the answers and participants were very active. They found this competition very informative and knowledge enriching.
The judging panel was comprised of ASO Hira Lal Khajuria, Mrs. Mini Bargotra, Mrs. Rommi Verma, Dr. Shalini Sharma, and Prof. Shapia Shameem Bhatti.
The program was adroitly conducted by Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, NSS Nodal Officer along with Prof. Sarita Dogra, Prof. Shapia Shameem Bhatti, and Prof. Seema Kumari.
NSS volunteers worked efficiently to make the competition a grand success.
